Every year during the months of November - May, the majority of the North Pacific Humpback Whale population (60%) can be found in the warm waters of Hawaii where they mate, calve and nurse their young.
No visit to Maui should be without a trip aboard the Pacific Whale Foundation fleet of boats and catamaran to get up close and personal with these beautiful creatures, and learn some interesting facts from their very knowledgeable guides and skippers. Daily sails leave throughout the day from Maalaea and Lahaina Harbors. Very affordable trips start at around $30 for a 2 hour sail. All $$ goes to the non-profit foundation.
